Ly Duong
Lab Manager
Ly Duong (she/her) is the Lab Manager for the 2023-2024 school year. She grew up in San Jose, California and identifies as Vietnamese American. Ly recently graduated from Oberlin College with Highest Honors in Psychology, and a minor in Statistical Modeling. She is currently serving a year with AmeriCorps helping low-income first-generation students get into college. Next fall, she is pursuing her master's degree in Social Welfare at UCLA. Her research utilizes a strengths-based approach, and she is interested in promoting racial and educational equity for minority youth. Outside of work, Ly enjoys traveling, volunteering, and creative writing.


Allison To
Research Assistant
Allison To (she/her) joined the lab in Spring ‘23. She is from Yorba Linda, California and identifies as Taiwanese American. Allison is currently a 5th year on the pre-med track, pursuing a dual degree in Psychology (BA) and Piano Performance (BM). Her main research interest revolves around adolescent psychopathology, specifically among the Asian American population, as she aspires to become a psychiatrist. Beyond her academic pursuits, Allison is on the board of the Oberlin Pre-Health Initiative Society (ObiePhi). Her hobbies include content creation, playing the piano, shopping, and traveling.
Yuhki Ueda
Research Assistant
Yuhki Ueda (she/they) is a 5th year majoring in Piano Performance and Psychology. Having grown up in multiple countries (Thailand, Bangladesh, the Philippines, and the US) and being of Japanese and Malaysian heritage, she identifies as a Third Culture Kid and Asian American. Yuhki joined the lab in Spring 2023 and her primary research interests include developmental psychopathology, especially among Asian and Asian American youth; executive control in adolescence and young adulthood; and caregiver-child attachment and its implications. Outside of class, she is involved in Oberlin’s Japanese Student Association and enjoys rock climbing, making and listening to music, crocheting, and baking for her friends.

Sahibpreet Kaur

Research Assistant
Sahib Kaur (she/her) is a 4th year undergraduate research assistant. She is from New Jersey and identifies as South Asian, specifically Panjabi. She is majoring in Psychology and Law & Society and is interested in memory and cognition. Sahib joined the lab in the Summer of 2023 and wants to start a clinical PhD program next year. She wants to work with Asian American and Pacific Islander populations. Outside of her academics, she is part of OCircus and does aerial silks. She is a teaching assistant for Astronomy and has a little crocheting business making stuffed animals! Her hobbies include reading sad and emotional books, listening to music, and watching cozy TV shows.
Jingru (Amy) Huang
Research Assistant
Jingru Huang (she/her) joined the lab in Summer '23. She is from Qingdao, China and identifies as Chinese. Jingru is a senior at Oberlin College, majoring in Psychology and minoring in East Asian Studies with a Business Concentration. Her research interest revolves around developmental & clinical psychology, especially about the mental and behavioral health of women & multicultural populations. Jingru also has strong interests in business & marketing. She is a member of the Chinese Student Association (CSA) finance department. In her spare time, she runs a small merchandising business. She enjoys cooking and cannot live without music & concerts.

Victoria Adair

Research Assistant
Victoria Adair (she/her) is a 2nd year majoring in psychology with a concentration in data science. She is from Oberlin, Ohio, and identifies as Asian American. Victoria joined the lab in Spring 2024 and is interested in the social dynamics of race in the US, and how expectations and stereotypes affect relationships among BIPOC. She is also a transracial adoptee and has an interest in the mental health and social standing they feel. Outside of class, Victoria is a club soccer team captain and organizer for Oberlin’s Survivors of Sexual Harm and Allies. She enjoys listening to music, thrifting, and hanging out with friends.
Huyen Kim
Research Assistant
Huyen Kim (she/her) is a second-year Psychology major with a minor in Computer Science and an integrative concentration in Data Science. She is from Hanoi, Vietnam, and identifies as Vietnamese. Her main research interests are in the field of clinical psychology, particularly how intergenerational trauma influences mental health among Asian Americans and the implications for therapeutic practices. Huyen also has a strong interest in Human-Computer Interaction, a multidisciplinary field at the intersection of Psychology and Computer Science, and is passionate about centering human experience, accessibility, and inclusivity in technological advancement. Outside her academic pursuits, she enjoys reading, learning foreign languages, and journaling.
