Meet the Team

Victoria Adair

Research Assistant

Victoria Adair (she/her) is a fourth-year psychology major with a concentration in data science. A native of Oberlin, Ohio, she identifies as Asian American and joined the lab in Spring 2024. Her research interests focus on the social dynamics of race in the U.S., particularly how expectations and stereotypes shape both intra- and inter-community relationships among BIPOC groups. She is also interested in intersectionality, specifically how overlapping identities influence relationships among marginalized communities and how these dynamics can be leveraged to foster allyship. Outside of academics, Victoria plays on Oberlin’s club soccer team and is an active member of Survivors of Sexual Harm and Allies. In her free time, she enjoys listening to music, thrifting, and spending time with friends.

Huyen Kim

Research Assistant

Huyen Kim (she/her) is a fourth-year Psychology major with minors in Computer Science and Statistical Modeling. She is from Hanoi, Vietnam, and identifies as Vietnamese. Her research interests center on how racial and gender stereotypes, prejudice, and discrimination shape the experiences and well-being of marginalized communities, as well as how family relationships and dynamics influence child development. She also has a strong interest in Human-Computer Interaction, a multidisciplinary field at the intersection of Psychology and Computer Science, and is passionate about leveraging technology to advance scientific research and applying psychological insights to inform technological design and innovation. At Oberlin, Huyen served as Vice President and Treasurer of the Vietnamese Student Association during the 2024–2025 academic year. Outside of academics, Huyen enjoys reading, cooking, and crocheting.

Connor Daley

Research Assistant

Connor Daley (he/him) is a 4th year majoring in Psychology and History. He is from Williamstown, Massachusetts. Connor joined the lab in fall 2025 and is interested in the process of psychological assessment and diagnosis, as well as the systems used to classify mental disorders and prescribe pharmacological and therapeutic treatments to patients. At Oberlin, Connor researches the lived experience of autistic individuals as well as how humans connect to nature, and in the past has worked for Berkshire County's Planning Commission to analyze youth substance misuse rates and legislative policies that affect youth substance misuse. In his free time, Connor plays guitar.

Cat Gilligan

Research Assistant

Cat Gilligan (she/her) is a 4th year double-majoring in Psychology and English from North Andover, Massachusetts. Cat joined the lab in Fall 2025, and will be continuing the research that she began conducting in Professor Godon-Decoteau’s Advanced Methods in Qualitative Research course last spring. Her research is primarily focused on the lived experiences of autistic college students who are often misperceived as neurotypical by others. On campus, Cat is a Course Writing Associate for Professor Pat Day, an editor for Oberlin’s alternative student newspaper The Grape, and co-director of WOBC’s electronic music workgroup.
